NYX Stick Blush Review

So, I know everyone has their fav and go-to blush for everyday looks. Recently, while in Ulta beauty store one of the sales girls showed me NYX cream blush, and I must say I was amazed. I have been using it all week and it not only last all day, but looks darn good on me as well! It goes on really smooth and does not look dry like most blush does. Also, gives you more natural looking colored cheeks. The blush comes in a pop up like stick so you can apply directly to cheek, use your fingers, or a brush. I got this in the color Pink Poppy, which is such a pretty spring/summer pink with golden undertones. For the price (5.99 @ Ulta....if you go online or get the ad book there's always a coupon) and quality you can beat it. As of now it has become my favorite blush to use.

Below are the variety of colors they offer. They have something for every skin tone. Hope you go out and try them because they are heaven sent!

M.A.C Brow Wax & Other Alternatives

Hello my fellow beauty fans. So recently I was out shopping with my cousins and we visited MAC. I picked up some brow powder, but passed on the brow wax since I had one by NYX at home. While at the MAC counter one of the makeup artist showed me how to quickly do my brows the right way. First apply brow wax in a swipe following brow and then the brow powder....a quick 1, 2 step. Unfortunately, I'd been sleeping on my NYX brow wax pencil (NYX brow shaper as they call it). I couldn't wait to try it. As soon as I got home I found my NYX brow shaper and got to work. It works just as well as the one by MAC. Anyone wanting to save a few bucks do check out the brow shaper by NYX. Comparing price, the MAC brow wax(16.00 @ MAC) is about twice as much as  the one by NYX (8.79 @ ULTA). The brow wax by NYX is much sturdier than MAC (which looks like it will break easily). Other brands that offer similar products as NYX and MAC are almost three times the cost (ie Anastasia Beverly Hills). I think some ABH brow products are over-rated. I bought the brow kit which came with highlighter, gel, cooling brightener, tweezer, stencils, double ended brush, brow powder, and something else that I can't remember or find. Everything in the kit was pretty great, but I was not a huge fan of the powder and I actually like the one from MAC better.

I hope this was some help for whom ever may be struggling in a decision to purchase brow wax. This is but a small portion of the options available out there. Be sure to check everything out and ask to try out products as well as take samples home when out shopping at your go to beauty shops.

Love, love!

Happy Valentine's Day! What a day to celebrate love! Love comes in many forms, and when you know what real love is you can distinguish between love, lust, & control. I believe love is the greatest of all God's requirements. Everything he would have you do is under love's umbrella. Through love there is joy, humility, grace, forgiveness, truth, kindness, peace, patience, and so much more! I truly hope everyone finds out what out means to truly love thy self and others. Love is not perfect, but it does look beyond flaws and straight to acceptance. Love yourself first, you cannot truly love others unless you love yourself. Love you, love God, for he is in you! Stay blessed and LOVE!

Your Skin VS Winter!

Ahhhhhh.....this is what my skin is screaming. So we all know how damaging the winter weather can be to the skin; can we say detrimental! I live in a place where the weather is constantly changing, but lately the weather has truly been bipolar. It's only Tuesday and there's been sun, rain, snow, and ice. My skin does not know what's going on. Growing up I always heard that staying hydrated and drinking water is most important to keep your skin from drying out, it is not. An article I read in Readers Digest actually stated that environmental factors are what have the largest impact on your skin. So, while drinking plenty of water is great you must also take care of the external part as much as the internal.

What is skin? What happens when your skin becomes dry? The skin is the largest organ of the body; it
protects us from microbes, outside elements/toxins, helps regulate body temp, and is composed of 3 layers (epidermis, dermis, and hypo-dermis). Dry skin has an inability to retain moisture and is prone to sensitivity.
Some of the things you can do to help prevent or combat dry skin are the following:

  • Skip the scorching hot showers/baths and opt for lukewarm instead
  • We all love the lathering suds, but use a mild cleanser or moisturizing cream cleanser
  • Try moisturizing right after your bath/shower when skin is still damp
  • Moisturize with oil of your choice (i.e. olive, baby, coconut, jojoba, etc...)

A few of my favorite moisturizers are jojoba oil, olive oil, Nivea Extended Moisture body lotion, Lush’s massage bar (Each Peach), and sometimes I like to mix my oils with my lotions. Remember be kind to your skin because it protects you from all the harmful critters and toxins of the world. If your skin is in bad condition your first line of defense is compromised.

Hopefully this has been helpful for those of you out there fighting against this bizarre weather. Please leave comments below and let me know your thoughts, and if you have anything you’d like to add.
